Everyone wants to go on a vacation, whether it be jam-packed or a relaxing beach vacation. But, sometimes it takes us a little longer than we anticipated to make the finances happen. Here are ten ways you can cut back in your everyday life in order to make a vacation possible!

Start A Penny Jar
Saving change might sound a bit tedious to some but, it is well worth it. That empty jar you started with will be full by the time your vacation rolls around! Last time I saved change before a vacation I had over $150. You could even allocate your extra money to your souvenir fund.
Make Your Coffee At Home
If you are not a coffee drinker you can skip this step! I do not know about y’all but, the money I spend on coffee sometimes is ridiculous. Being a lover of coffee is a full time hobby, but it can be expensive. Spending between 3-5 dollars a day adds up. If you cut out your daily coffee outing it could save you anywhere from 90 to 150 dollars a month! Give it 6 months and you have already saved a good chunk of cash my friends.
Make Your Meals At Home
I know first hand how easy it can be to grab lunch while you’re out or grab dinner with friends because you’re too lazy to cook. However, cooking all your meals at home can free up a lot of extra money you did not think was much at the time. Spice it up by trying a new recipe!
Halt Your Subscriptions
This may not be for everyone but, it is a good way to save some extra cash. By halting subscriptions such as Netflix, Hulu and Spotify you could potentially save upwards of $30 a month! I know a lot of people are subscribed to more than, if you are one of those people start by canceling one.
Cancel Your Gym Membership
This is probably a membership a lot of us have but, never use ( I am definitely one of those people). My planet fitness black card costs me about $22 a month and I NEVER use it. If you do go to the gym, try changing up your workouts for a few months. Work out at home or even outside, get creative!
Look For Good Deals
Almost everyday stores are having some type of sale. If it is possible try buying mainly sale items and see how much you save. Also look for coupons online for events or activities you are interested in going to. One specific deal that I take advantage of is $5 Tuesdays at Showcase Cinemas. By doing this I am saving around $8 to see a movie!
Sell Your Unwanted Items
One man’s (or woman’s) trash is another man’s (or woman’s) treasure! This statement is very accurate. I know we all have those perfectly good items that sit in our closet and collect dust. Try selling them on sites like eBay!
Pick Up Extra Shifts At Work
Okay so obviously this is a no brainer when you need money you work more (duh). However, try specifically allocating the money from the extra shifts to your vacation fund. Picking up even one extra shift a week will help your vacation fund grow extremely fast.
Try A New Side Hustle
If you have free time, try picking up a side hustle! Companies like Uber, Lyft and DoorDash are great ways to make money on your own time. This definitely is not for everyone but, if you have a car it could be feasible!
Book Through Travel Websites
Instead of booking directly through your dream vacations website, try a site like Expedia. This could potentially save you from spending hundreds of extra dollars and put that vacation in your reach much faster!
